In the year 2017, and under the directives of Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Khalifa Empowerment Program – Aqdar, an arm of the Ministry of Interior of United Arab Emirates partnered with INDEX Conferences & Exhibitions to organize the first edition of Aqdar World Summit under the theme “The Role of Moral Education in Academic Institutions Regionally and Internationally to Combat Global Challenges”, in corporation with international partners that included United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). In line with the objectives of the summit, the Chairman of INDEX Holdings, Dr. Abdulsalam Al Madani, promised Lt. General H.H. Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior that Aqdar World Summit will go international, extending its empowerment, support, guidance, education and development of the people worldwide.
At the conclusion of the first edition of Aqdar World Summit, the feedback received from our partners and the public was overwhelmingly positive and the need of the public for empowerment, education, guidance and scientific knowledge on how to combat everyday challenges was fulfilled through the summit. The summit also attracted multiple regional and international sponsors, exhibitors, participants and speakers, compelling us to extend our partnership with Khalifa Empowerment Program – Aqdar and organize the second edition of Aqdar World Summit which was held under the theme ““Role of Human Empowerment in Developing Stable Societies: Sustainable Development”.
The second edition of Aqdar World Summit took place in the capital of the UAE, Abu Dhabi, featuring a number of local regional, and international participants. In line with the teachings and values of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE, the summit featured a number of workshops and scientific sessions that tackled various pressing matters and helped increase awareness on the importance of the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations and their impact on human empowerment as well as ensuring the stability of societies and their internal and external security to support them to be active members in the international community. Following another successful edition, international communities started reaching out to the organizers of Aqdar World Summit asking for their support in overcoming the same challenges that the summit is aimed at overcoming. That is when Aqdar World Summit initiated its international journey, announcing its 3rd edition that was held in Moscow, Russia under the theme “Global Empowerment of Communities: Experiences and Lessons Learned”.
We are proud to have the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in the 3rd edition of Aqdar World Summit which was successfully held in Moscow, Russia, parallel with Moscow Global Forum “City for Education” . Following the directives of the UAE government and objectives of the Aqdar world summit of global empowerment, both the UAE and Russia aligned their efforts in highlighting and overcoming local and global issues related to the empowerment of societies in their human, cultural and intellectual dimensions.
As the message of Aqdar World Summit was heard worldwide and is being called to action, leaders need to empower their communities in order to ensure the sustainable development of their people and their countries. In line with the directives of the leaders of the UAE and the value set by its founding father, Aqdar World Summit will respond to that call of action and will support all countries in need.
